ANDOVER, Ohio — DeeDra A. Pilson, 46, of Leon Road, Richmond Township, Andover, Ohio, died Thursday afternoon, Aug. 15, 2013, at her residence after a year-long fight with cancer.

She was born Oct. 16, 1966, in Warren, Ohio, the daughter of the late James and Betty Lou Bailey Silvers. She had been a resident of the area most of her life. She married Darren S. Pilson on June 13, 1992, at Leon United Methodist Church.

DeeDra was a 1985 graduate of Pymatuning Valley High School in Andover, and also attended Cornith Christian Academy in Kinsman, Ohio.

DeeDra was a member of Andover United Methodist Church; was active with the Pymatuning Valley Touchdown Club; and enjoyed music, flower gardening and cooking.

She is survived by her husband, Darren, and three children, Joshua R. Pilson, Kerra D. Pilson and Evan S. Pilson, all at home; a sister, Angela Silvers of Newton Falls, Ohio; a half sister, Dawn Higginbothan of Niles, Ohio; and two half brothers, Christopher and Lloyd Gibbs.

Calling hours will be Monday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Andover United Methodist Church, 181 S. Main St., Andover.

The memorial service will be Monday at 6 p.m. at the church, with the Rev. Vernon Palo officiating.

The family would like to express its sincere gratitude and appreciation to Hospice of the Western Reserve for the care and attention they gave DeeDra.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family; envelopes will be at the church.

The Jefferson Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, Ohio, is handling arrangements.
