James (Jim) R. Sullivan, 74, of Townville, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at Marquette Hospice House. He was born on June 7, 1939, in Steubenville, Ohio, a son of Paul R. Sullivan, Floyd Dupont and Julia Reith. On July 31, 1965, he married Helen M. Powell; she survives.
He attended Townville High School Class of 1958 and was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Jim owned and operated Sullivan Logging and after he retired he was a part-time parts delivery driver for Peterson Auto in Saegertown.
He attended Wayland Baptist Church and was a member of American Legion Post 205 in Saegertown.
Jim enjoyed dirt track racing, hunting, fishing, golfing, playing instant lottery tickets, but most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his loving wife of 48 years, Helen M. Sullivan of Townville; he is survived by two sons, Gary L. Sullivan and his companion, Pam, of Saegertown and Boyd A. Sullivan and his wife, Stephanie, of Saegertown; four grandchildren, Nickolas, Alexander, Brittany and Samantha Sullivan; a special friend and family member, Joseph Krum of Saegertown; his TV buddy and faithful dog, Max; a sister, Betty Sutton and her husband, Jack, of Centerville; a sister-in-law, Darla Dupont; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He has been preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Dickie Sullivan, John Sullivan and Alvin Dupont.
Family and friends are welcome to call on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Willis L. Arnold Funeral Home, 33353 N. Main St., Townville.
The funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Temple Jarrell of New Beginnings Church of God officiating.
Burial will take place in Kingsley Cemetery, Townville.
