Lois E. Manross

TITUSVILLE — Lois E. Manross, 87, of Southwoods Assisted Living Community, Titusville, died peacefully at 6:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2014, surrounded by her loving family at her residence following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Manross was born May 26, 1926, in Titusville, a daughter of the late Elmer E. Magee and Mabel Coyle Magee. She graduated from St. Joseph Academy in 1944.

Lois was formerly employed as a bookkeeper at Bob Cron Motors, Masonite Corporation and Northwest Motors, all of Titusville.

She was a member of St. Titus Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5958 Auxiliary. Lois was a past member of the Titusville Lioness Club.

Lois enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, playing cards, traveling, collecting figurines and spending time with family and friends. She was well known for making excellent peanut butter fudge.

Survivors include her loving husband of almost 41 years, Robert L. Manross of Titusville, whom she married May 11, 1973, in Franklin; two daughters, Kathleen A. Eldred and her husband, Milton, of Hydetown, and Susan M. Rauch and her husband, David, of Titusville; a stepson, Robert J. Manross of Pinellas Park, Fla.; five grandchildren, Shawn P. Eldred of Cleveland, Paul M. Eldred of Cambodia, Michael J. Eldred of Titusville, Raeann Rauch of Titusville and Jennifer Yoder of Titusville; eight great-grandchildren, TaLeigh B. Eldred, Braelyn M. Eldred, Peyton Eldred, Patrick Eldred, Sebastian M. Eldred, Haley Manross, Peyton Yoder and Addyson Yoder; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Jean K. Peters and Doris M. Magee; and four brothers, Lawrence E. Magee, Donald F. Magee, Paul R. Magee and Roger D. Magee.

A Christian Wake Service will be conducted at 1:45 p.m. Saturday at Leo N. Hennes Funeral Home Inc., 203 E. Main St., Titusville. Relatives and friends will be received on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A Transfer Service will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Monday from the funeral home followed by the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Titus Church, with Father Walter E. Packard, pastor for the Catholic Community of Titusville, as celebrant.

Interment will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Mageetown.

The family suggests that memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Crawford County, 310 North Monroe St., Titusville, Pa. 16354; or to a charity of one’s choice.
