EDINBORO — Faye C. Culbertson, 85, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2013, at her residence, 20206 Irish Road, Edinboro.

Born on Dec. 4, 1927, in Mt. Hope, Crawford County, Faye was a daughter of Melvin Heffern and Elizabeth Reese Heffern. She married Earl J. Culbertson on Dec. 12, 1947, and he preceded her in death in 2009.

Faye worked at the former Viscose in Meadville and dairy farmed with her husband. She also worked many years for Venango Township during elections.

She was active as a member of Crossroads Community Church in McKean and enjoyed watching TV game shows and being with her cat, “Pumpkin.” She enjoyed feeding and caring for homeless cats and kittens. Her grandchildren were important to her and spending time with them gave her great pleasure.

Preceding Faye in death, in addition to her husband, Earl, was a daughter, Irene (Renie) A. Raeuber, who died in 1987; five sisters, Lucille Bleasdale, Lois Troutner, Marian Alexander, Sue Pavlik and Rose Stanford; and a brother, Robert Lang.

Surviving Faye are two sons, Kenneth Culbertson and his wife, Patricia, of Saegertown, and the Rev. James E. Culbertson and his wife, Wendy Jo, of Morrill, Maine; a daughter, Wilma Webster and her husband, Robert, of Edinboro; two sisters, Rita Roloff and Peg Minnick; five brothers, Don Heffern, Gerald Lang, Milton Lang, James Lang and Gary Lang; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews surviving. Included is a brother-in-law, Bill Culbertson and his wife, Herk, who survives.

Friends may call at Van Matre Family Funeral Home, 335 Venango Ave., Cambridge Springs, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend funeral services there on Thursday morning at 11. Pastor Jack McClintock of Crossroads Community Church of McKean will officiate.

Interment will be in Venango Cemetery.
