Irvin (Woody) Franklin Hill, 66, of Sigel Road, Marienville, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, as a result of an automobile accident in Marienville.
He was born in Greenville on Jan. 23, 1947, to the late Elmer and Ida Mae Kitch Hill.
He was a 1965 graduate of Greenville High School and retired from General Motors in Lordstown, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Army, from which he received an honorable discharge.
He loved everything about the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Woody loved his animals and spending time with his good friends.
He is survived by two daughters, Lesley Sue Harlow and her husband, Michael W., of Greenville, and Diana Lynn Thompson and her husband, John R., of Conneautville; a brother, Orville (Bud) Hill of Florida; four sisters, Irene Rimer and her husband, Jack, of Arizona, Phyllis Eastlick and her husband, Richard, of Greenville, Nellie Beilstein of Greenville and Darlene Blue of Greenville; three grandchildren, Corey A. Whitman of Washington, Brittani Lynn Thompson of Linesville and Andrew John Thompson of Linesville; several nieces and nephews; and his lifelong friend, Michelle Margaret Augusta of Ohio. He also leaves behind his golden retriever, Libby, who was in the accident with him, but escaped uninjured.
All services are private.
Burial will be at Shenango Valley Cemetery in Greenville. Military honors will be provided by the Greenville Veterans of Foreign Wars Honor Guard.
