James Edwin Osborne

JAMESTOWN — James Edwin Osborne, 74, of 301 Washington St., Jamestown, died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013 at 2:25 a.m. at his home.

He was born Nov. 23, 1938 in Transfer, the son of the late James Leslie Osborne and Irene Dorthea (Young) Osborne. He married Patricia Ann (Campbell) Osborne on March 1, 1962; she survives.

He graduated from Pymatuning Joint High School, Jamestown in 1952.

He was a Specialist 4th Class in the United States Army, serving in the Cuban Crisis.

He worked for Greenville Steel Car for 23 years as a punch operator, and 16 years for Pymatuning State Park before retiring. Early on, he worked for at Blazon in Jamestown.

He was very family oriented, having enjoyed participating in the events and activities of his children and grandchildren.

He loved the outdoors, hunting, reloading weapons, competition silouhette handgun shooting, listening to country music, watching birds, his dog, Bruiser, and the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians.

He was a member of Jamestown United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association, White Oaks Shooting Club, Greenville, served five years on Jamestown Boro Council, and was a member of the Retirement Association for State Employees.

In addition to his wife, Patricia, he is survived by five daughters, Christine Osborne and her fiance, Owen Scott, of Jamestown, Rebecca Osborne-Demmler and her husband, John, of Jamestown, Brenda Schafer and her husband, Fred, of Allison Park, Rhonda Pipp and her husband, Tom, of Jamestown, and Leslie Eynon of Greenville; 10 grandchildren, James Schafer, Callie Schafer, Samantha Schafer, Earvin Hereford, Jessica Hereford, Nicholas Eynon, Cody Eynon, Tom Pipp III, Josh Pipp and Justin Pipp; three nieces, Mary Marion, Gwendolyn (Wendy) Bulger and her husband, Rich, and Diane Mentch and her husband, Chris; and six great grandsons, John Duignan, Dustin Pipp, Gage Pipp, John Pipp, Christian Pipp and Aiden Pipp.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Ann Jackson; and a great granddaughter, Jocelyn Duignan.

Calling hours are Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Randall Funeral Home, 416 Liberty St., Jamestown. Funeral service is Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Todd Miller of Harvest Baptist Church and Pastor Jeff Harter of Family Home Hospice officiating.

Burial is in Stevenson Cemetery, Greenville.
