MEADVILLE — Mark Kingston Sr., 67, of Meadville, died at UPMC Hamot, Erie, following a brief illness on Saturday, May 11, 2013.

Born in Meadville, he was a son of Robert and Virginia Shirk Kingston.

Mark served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a radio relay operator during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1971, achieving the rank of Lance Corporal. Until his recent retirement, he was self-employed for the past 16 years and had previously been employed at Avtex Fibers for a 21-year period.

He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and gardening.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Carie Snow Kingston; three children, Kelly, Mark Jr. and Holly Kingston; five grandchildren, Dane Ketcham and his wife, Ashley, Drew Ketcham, Marley Andrews, Morrighan Lee and Renee Allen; two great-grandchildren, Tristan and Taylor Ketcham; a sister, Sue Phillippi; a niece, Jennifer Pidhirney; and a nephew, Steven Phillippi.

A private funeral service will be held by the family with interment at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Meadville.

Arrangements are with Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 3223 Perry Highway, Sheakleyville.
