Richard K. (Richie) Hammond, 19, of Second Ave., Corry, died Sunday, May 12, 2013, at his residence following a life-long heart condition.
He was born Aug. 13, 1993, in Meadville. He is survived by his mother, Annette Williams Hammond of Corry, and his father, Kenneth Hammond and his wife, Carol, of Cambridge Springs. He was preceded in death by Mark Parker.
Richie was raised and educated in Corry, graduating from Corry Area High School in 2012.
He enjoyed playing video games, going fishing and shopping. Richie was also interested in making videos and photography. He especially liked caring for all of his various pets over the years, meeting new people and, most of all, being with his family.
Richie was a member of Snap Fitness of Corry.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Marie Williams of Corry; paternal grandparents, Raymond Hammond of Saegertown and Mary Porter of Cambridge Springs; paternal great-grandmother, Ruth Bliss of Saegertown; two brothers, Jamie Hammond and Jonathan Hammond, both of Corry; a stepsister, Shawna Malone of Meadville; a nephew; a niece; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Nichols Lodge in Mead Park, Corry.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Bracken Funeral Home Inc., 315 N. Center St. Corry, Pa. 16407.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
