Elizabeth V. (Libby) Weagraff


MEADVILLE — Elizabeth V. (Libby) Weagraff, 97, formerly of Titusville, died Friday, April 26, 2013, in Meadville following an extended illness.

Mrs. Weagraff was born Jan. 29, 1916, in San Antonio, Texas, a daughter of the late Roy and Teresa Obets Kornegay. She was married to Robert M. Weagraff on Oct. 9, 1943, in San Antonio. He preceded her in death on June 7, 1971.

She was a graduate of Roanoke High School in Texas, Class of 1934. During World War II, she worked for the Civil Service for several years. She and her husband moved to Titusville and she worked as a dietary supervisor at Titusville Area Hospital from 1959 until her retirement in 1988.

Mrs. Weagraff was a member of St. Titus Church. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, gardening and spoiling her grandchildren.

She is survived by a daughter, Elsie Fisher of Meadville, with whom she made her home; four grandchildren, Lieanda, Yuri, Amanda and her husband, John, and Linda; five great-grandchildren, Savannah, Alana, Brianna, Samantha and Davieon; a brother, Billie Kornegay of Garland, Texas; two sisters, Patricia Phelps of San Antonio and Ann Lou Goetz of Garland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert H. Weagraff; three brothers, Dickie Bird Kornegay, Charles Kornegay and Kenneth Kornegay; two infant brothers; three sisters, Floreine Adams, Linda Brewer and Merle Sheridan; and two infant sisters.

Friends may call at Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington St., Titusville, on Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m., at which time the funeral service will be conducted, with Father Walter E. Packard officiating.

Interment will be in St. Catharine’s Cemetery.
