Gerald M. Carter, 94, of Cochranton, died Thursday, July 25, 2013, at his residence.
Born Aug. 5, 1918, in Cherry Tree Township, he was a son of Morton and Olive Mark Carter. He married Madelyn Carpenter and she preceded him in death on June 28, 2010.
He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Returning from the war, he worked at Pennzoil in Rouseville in the steam refinery department.
Survivors include a son-in-law, David Slawson and his wife, Mary, of Cochranton; four grandchildren, Lori DuQue and her husband, David, of Pueblo, Colo., David A. Slawson and his wife, Missy, of Cochranton, Jennifer Winger of Pueblo, and Brian Slawson and his wife, Kristen, of Jefferson, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Michael, Matthew and Ty DuQue, Elizabeth (Libby), Sarah, Zach and Noah Winger, Nathaniel and Nicholas Slawson, and Madyison and Laken Slawson.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lois Slawson.
Friends may call at Dickson Family Funeral Home Inc., 123 S. Franklin St., Cochranton, on Monday from noon until time of services at 2 p.m. The Rev. John McGarvey of Cochranton Christian and Missionary Alliance Church will officiate.
Interment will be in Jameson Corner’s Cemetery, Titusville.
