Brad M. Stockholm, 61, of Meadville, died at home Tuesday, July 23, 2013.
He was born Aug. 15, 1951, in Batavia, N.Y., a son of H. Mason and Jane Kirby Stockholm.
He was a 1969 graduate of Meadville Area Senior High. After graduation, he started his 43-year career on the railroad, first for the Bessemer and Lake Erie, which was subsequently acquired by the Canadian National Railway. He retired in 2012 as train master. He was a very hard worker and in his younger years he would tinker with his cars.
He is survived by two sisters, Lynn Nies of Aliquippa and Kathy Stockholm of Baltimore, Md.; a nephew, Matthew Nies and his wife, Lindsay, of Butler; a niece, Jennifer Clark and her husband, Bob, of Hopewell; two great-nieces, Emilee Clark and Lexie Clark; and a great-nephew, Mason Clark.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Calling hours will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
The funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Brumagin officiating.
Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
