ELYRIA, Ohio —
Kenneth M. Rea, 95, died Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Wesleyan Village, Elyria, Ohio.
He was born Nov. 19, 1917, in Linesville and graduated from Linesville High School in 1934 as valedictorian. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II in the India-Burma-Asia Campaign. He was employed as a welder with Iron Workers Local 17 and then with NASA for 21 years, retiring in 1982. He was also a salesman for Columbus Mutual Life Insurance Co. He was a longtime resident of Parma, Ohio, and a former member of Ridgewood United Methodist Church.
Ken is survived by his children, Margie (Tom) Davis, Carolyn (John) Dyck, Tom (Joyce) Rea, and stepson, Dennis (Elisa) Friedl; grandchildren, Sharon (Erik) Beach, Sean (Emily Schmidt) Dyck, Beth (Shane) Williamson, George (Shanna) Davis, Bill (Melanie) Davis, Olivia (Erik Palmore) Rea, Bryan Rea, Edward and Lauren Friedl; and great-grandchildren, Libby, Erick and Elise Beach, Ryan and Kelsey Williamson, Warren Davis and Owen Palmore.
He was preceded in death by wives, Olive Agnew, Louise Friedl and Lulu Patton; parents, Silas Franklin Rea and Bertha Mae Garwood; and siblings, Earl, Helen and Clemson Rea.
A committal/graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Harmonsburg at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Attire for the committal service will be very casual. Everyone is welcome.
