BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP — Maxine M. Hulings, 80, died Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at the home of her son.

She was born April 3, 1933, in Spring Creek, a daughter of the late Everett and Marie Miller.

Maxine was raised and educated in Spring Creek and graduated from Mt. Carmel High School, Kentucky, in 1950. She then moved to Tidioute and worked for White’s Nursing Home. Maxine then met Donald F. Hulings and married him on June 6, 1953, in Ripley N.Y. In 1955 she moved to Bloomfield Township, where she stayed home to raise and care for her family.

She was a member of the Lincolnville Sewing Circle, Gem City Rock and Mineral Club of Erie and former president of the Meadville Button Club. Her hobbies included traveling with her family and enjoying every state and province of North America except Hawaii.

In addition to her husband, Maxine is preceded in death by four brothers, Leslie, Elton and Clyde Miller, and James Spencer; and a grandson, Travis Blue Hulings.

Maxine is survived by a daughter, Robin Kieklak and her husband, Richard, of Wattsburg; two sons, Donald E. Hulings and his wife, Dixie, of Lincolnville, and Mark Hulings of Corry; a sister, Patricia Spencer Ploss of Union City; and a brother, Walter Miller and his wife, Kay, of Corry. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Renee Arreola and her husband, Mike, and Rhonda Callan; two great-grandsons, Benjamin and Matthew Arreola; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service on July 26 at 11 a.m. at Centerville United Methodist Church, Route 8, Centerville, with the Rev. Clyde Cooper officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Life Nazarene Church of Riceville.
