GUYS MILLS — Elmer A. Tucker, 63, of Guys Mills, died Friday, May 17, 2013, at Meadville Medical Center.

Elmer was born Oct. 30, 1949, in Titusville, a son of the late Raymond Tucker Sr. and Margaret Wilson Tucker.

He married Kristie Holsopple, who survives.

He had been a logger working in the woods. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served his country in Vietnam.

He loved playing his guitar and especially enjoyed playing Johnny Cash’s “Walk the Line” for his daughter Shawna. He also had written a few of his own songs.

Elmer loved to fish and loved to play poker. He enjoyed planting the garden and had always wanted to plant strawberries. He wanted to start his own business. He loved to gather items up and dismantle them to save and scrap. He was very active in Shawna’s life and her activities.

He is survived by his wife, Kristie Holsopple of Guys Mills; a daughter, Shawna Holsopple at home; a son, Mike Tucker and his wife, Mary, of Johnsonburg; three grandchildren, Jesse Tucker and Mallaki Tucker, both of Johnsonburg, and Chase Tucker of Union City; a sister, Abby Tucker; and a brother, Carl Tucker.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Elmer Tucker Jr.; two sisters, Violet and Nancy; and by two brothers, Meril and Raymond Jr.

A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced.
