Patsy C. Irwin

Meadville Tribune

MEADVILLE — Patsy C. Irwin passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Monday, April 29, 2013, at Meadville Medical Center, from complications due to Alzheimer’s.

She was not only the example of the woman spoken of in Proverbs 31, but also the example of everything God wants us to be while serving Him. She was kind, always positive, smiling, never judging. She loved unconditionally and spoke often of that love, sharing it with others as she gave hugs abundantly. She loved her God with her whole heart, her husband more than anything else and her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren closely behind. She was a servant all of her life, and her passing left a hole in many people. However, she filled more holes than she left, and for that we are so grateful!

Patsy was born July 9, 1936, in Norfolk, Va. Her parents were Paul and Madeline Cornette Sr. (both deceased). Siblings are Paul Cornette Jr. (deceased), Judy Wright and husband, Dr. Richard Wright. She was married on May 28, 1955, to Robert C. Irwin, the love of her life.

Her love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was evident in the nurturing of her family: her son, Rob Irwin and wife, Cindy Irwin; daughter, Rhonda Steinman and her husband, Fred Steinman; son, Randi Irwin and his wife, Michelle Irwin; son, Roy Irwin and his wife, Lori Irwin.

She was equally an example for her grandchildren, Justin Irwin and his wife, Staci, Nathan Irwin and his wife, Beth, Ryan Irwin and his wife, Brooke, Kaitlyn Irwin, Cassie Porter and her husband, Ryan, Gavilan Steinman and his wife, Caroline, Chase Steinman, Taylor Irwin and Nathan Irwin. And although her great-grandchildren are young, she was a loving nurturer for them as well: Brenden Manchester and Parker Irwin, Jax and Caroline Irwin, Olivia and Brielle Porter, and Eden Irwin.

We will miss her desperately, Honey, Sister, Mom, Grammy, and Friend. Our lives are greater because of you. And we thank God for sharing you with us!

A memorial service will be held Sunday from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Lyona Bible Church, on Lyona Road in Guys Mills.

Memorial contributions may be made at Active Aging, Meadville Senior Center, 1034 Park Ave., Meadville, Pa. 16335.

Patsy’s arrangements have been entrusted to Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home and Crematorium, 614 Baldwin St., Meadville.
