PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y. — Jane M. Satterlee Stephens, 80, passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at Isaac H. Tuttle Center in Port Washington, N.Y.

Jane was born on July 29, 1932, in Meadville, a daughter of the late Harold W. and Alma (Case) Satterlee.

A member of the First United Methodist Church in Niles, Ohio, Jane worked as a doctor’s assistant before raising her family. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking in her spare time.

Jane’s husband, Richard “Dick” H. Stephens, whom she married on June 20, 1959, passed away on April 21, 2008.

Jane will be sadly missed by three sons, Richard “Skip” (Ana) Stephens of Bethpage, N.Y., Douglas (Terry) Stephens of Farmingdale, N.Y., and Eric (Andrea) Stephens of Farmingdale; a sister, Beth (Anthony) Perrone of Niles, Ohio; a brother, Joseph (Evelyn) Satterlee of Meadville; two sisters-in law, Ruth Wilson of Cortland, Ohio, and Shirley Stephens of Niles; eight grandchildren, D.J., Daniel, Sara, Katelyn, Andrew, Kelly, Christopher and Carly; and many nieces, nephews, family and special friends.

Besides her parents and husband, Jane is preceded in death by a brother, David “Ed” Satterlee; a sister, Marge Miller; and a brother-in-law, William Stephens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Niles First United Methodist Church, 608 N. Crandon Ave., Niles, Ohio 44446, in Jane’s name.

Friends may call on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lane Family Funeral Homes Mineral Ridge Chapel, 1350 N. Niles-Canfield Road, Mineral Ridge, Ohio.

Funeral services will follow on Thursday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
