Richard Wayne Smith, 55, of 29 Penn St., Transfer, Mercer County, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at 5:17 a.m. at home.
He was born Dec. 19, 1957, in Hemet, Riverside County, Calif., a son of Charles Edwin Smith and Velma Pearl Kingston Smith. He married Brenda Davenport, Nov. 19, 1977. She survives.
He was a computer technician at Star Tech in Hermitage. He also worked 30 years at Werners in Greenville.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, his dogs and animals, reading and repairing computers.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Brenda Smith, at home; two daughters, Kristy Lee Smith-Phillips and her husband, Tyson Jay, of Meadville, and Lori Lynn Smith of Sharon; a grandson, Brian James Mitchelltree of Philippi, W.Va.; four sisters, Sharon Hamilton and her husband, Larry, of Rialto, Calif., Janet Smith-Huffman of Greenville, Lora Grinnell-Holler and her husband, Marvin, of Transfer, and Renee Grinnell of Sharpsville; and a brother, David Grinnell of Butler.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Michael Smith.
Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Randall Funeral Home, 416 Liberty St., Jamestown.
The religious service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Steven Clulow of Cochranton Community Church officiating.
Interment will be in West Side Cemetery, South Pymatuning Township.
