Eloise Paula Haase

MEADVILLE — Eloise Paula Haase, 87 of Juniper Village, Meadville, and formerly of Pittsburgh, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at Juniper Village.

Eloise was born Sept. 16, 1926, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Louis T.G. and Estella Doerr Haase.

She was a 1944 graduate of Oliver High School, received her bachelor’s degree in education from Chatham College and obtained her master’s degree from Penn State University. She retired after 37 years of service with Northway Elementary School of the North Hills School District.

She was a member of the Old St. Paul’s Church and sang in the choir. She was a very active member with the church. She attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Conneaut Lake when she would visit the area.

Eloise was a member of the Pi Lambda Theta International Honor Society, a member of the Professional Association in Education since 1953. She was a member of the Church Women’s United Club.

She had traveled extensively all over the world, and was an avid reader. She enjoyed doing the “Juniper Jinglers.”

She is survived by a nephew, Mark L. Haase and his wife, Rosalie, of Conneaut Lake, and their children, Chantal, Brielle and Aleigha; a niece, Cathy Votino and her husband, John, and their children, John and his wife, Kelly, Maria and her fiancé, Kevin, Nathan and Caitlyn; two great-great nephews, John and James, and her sister-in-law, Claire Haase of Conneaut Lake.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Louis D. Haase.

Family and friends may call on Saturday from 10 a.m. until noon at Trinity United Methodist Church, 240 N. Third St., Conneaut Lake.

The funeral service will be held at noon on Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Jay Sterling and Pastor David Brumagin, of Trinity United Methodist church, officiating.

Interment will be in South Cemetery, Butler.
