COCHRANTON — Kenneth R. Steiger, 81, of Cochranton, died Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Meadville Medical Center.

Born Nov. 30, 1931, in Crawford County, he was a son of Kenneth and E. Geraldine Steiger. He married Barbara Loveless on June 17, 1961, and she survives.

He attended the former Randolph High School, entered the U.S. Air Force on Dec. 2, 1948, and was honorably discharged on May 16, 1966.

After being discharged, he worked at the former American Viscose and also with Seco Warwick.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and all types of racing and he was a member of Cochranton Volunteer Fire Department Station 4.

Survivors, in addition to his wife of 52 years, include two sons, Kenneth M. Steiger and his wife, Teresa, of Nazareth, and Lee Steiger and his companion, Diana Schlosser, of Cochranton; a granddaughter, Ashley Steiger and her fiancé, Tyler Huth, of Meadville; a grandson, Kyle Steiger of Nazareth; a sister, Cheryl Miller and her husband, Charles, of Saegertown; a brother, Max Steiger of Meadville; several nieces and nephews; and his cat, Hopper.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Stub and Bud Steiger.

There are no calling hours. A celebration of Ken’s life will be held at a later date.

Dickson Family Funeral Home Inc., Cochranton, is in charge of arrangements.
