Meadville Tribune

MEADVILLE — Lorin Baxter, 67, of Meadville, left this Earth to be with his heavenly father on Thursday, June 20, 2013, at UPMC-Hamot Medical Center, Erie.

He was born on March 29, 1946, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late John and Elizabeth Forse Baxter.

Lorin enjoyed the best of his life helping everyone he knew. Lorin’s greatest pastimes were advocating and being a voice to the government for the people.

He enjoyed doing math, crafts, baking cookies and spending time at CHAPS with his many friends.

Lorin was a person who had the smile that could make anyone’s day. He chose to live his life with the roll of the eyes and the laughter that could melt your heart.

Lorin, take care and have luck.

Lorin leaves behind a sister, Norma Jean Baxter of Conneaut Lake; a brother, Kevin Baxter and his wife, Patty, of Linesville, and their three children; along with his closest and dearest friends, Dale and Bette Funkhouser; and his dear life skills coach, Peggy Yanacek.

Lorin was preceded in death by his father, John Baxter; and his mother, Elizabeth Baxter; and a brother, John W. Baxter.

Calling hour will be Monday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Dickson Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 N Second St., Conneaut Lake.

The funeral service will be Monday at 2 p.m., with Pastor David Brumagin, associate pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, Conneaut Lake, officiating.
