EDINBORO — Judith Louise Wilkins Boylan, wife of John A. Boylan Jr., of Edinboro, died peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, April 24, 2013.

She was born in Allentown on March 1, 1937, a daughter of the late Dr. Byron Wilkins and Lavinia Fasy Wilkins. She graduated from high school and college in Allentown.

Judy was a social caseworker at state hospitals in Allentown, Philadelphia and West Chester. Likewise, she was a caseworker and drug and alcohol counselor for GECAC (Erie) and also served in the General McLane School District in that capacity during the 1970s and 1980s.

She will be remembered for her wit and wicked sense of humor, her compassion for others, but mostly for her unwavering love and support of her family.

Preceding Judy in death was an infant daughter, Stacey Renee.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, John; two daughters, Trisha Yates and her husband, Bruce, and Vini Smith and her husband, David, all of Edinboro; and five grandchildren, Devon and Jesse Yates, and Aaron, Nathanael and Phoebe Smith. In addition, Judith is survived by two sisters, Trisha Blaisdell and her husband, Ted, of Orlando, Fla., and Phoebe Palcanis and her husband, Kent, of Birmingham, Ala.

A memorial service, led by Pastor Lisa Grant of Edinboro United Methodist Church, will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Van Matre Funeral Home in Edinboro. Friends may visit with the family prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 1 p.m.
