Jerome (Jerry) Logan Bossard

TOWNVILLE — Jerome (Jerry) Logan Bossard, 86, of Townville, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Saint Vincent Medical Center, Erie.

He was born Sept. 30, 1927, in Titusville, a son of Archie K. Bossard and Lucille Heskett Bossard. He married Charlotte Lenora Boyle on April 16, 1949. She preceded him in death Oct. 3, 2012.

Jerome served in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1947.

He worked in the automotive industry all of his life, starting at his father’s garage in Townville, then working for 27 years at Baker Auto Parts in Titusville until his retirement in 1989.

Jerome has been a member of Townville Baptist Church since 1944; a charter member of the Townville Volunteer Fire Department for 70 years, serving as both secretary and treasurer for a number of years; a board member of Kingsley Cemetery Association for many years; a member of Titusville Area Hospital’s board of directors for seven years; and a member of Little Cooley, Saegertown and Black Ash sportsmen clubs.

He enjoyed going to trap shoots in various states; fishing with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; traveling; spending winters in Florida with family and friends; and spending time with his family.

He is survived by two sons, Brad L. Bossard and his wife, Brenda, of Titusville, and William B. Bossard and his wife, LuAnn, of Centerville; two granddaughters, Christa L. Battin of Townville, and Chelby L. Robinson and her husband, Tim, of Townville; two grandsons, Darrell Bossard and Michael Bossard, both of Townville; great-grandchildren, Logan and Brooke Battin, Trista, Andrew, Ryan, Ashley and Rayna Robinson; two stepgrandsons, Cory Nicols and his wife, Crystal, of Harmonsburg, and Bodey Nicols and his wife, Vanessa, of Titusville; stepgreat-grandchildren, Tanner, Landon and Cru Nicols; two brothers, Robert Bossard and his wife, Shirley, and Forest (Sam) Bossard; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Charlotte; his parents; one brother, Kenneth Bossard; and a daughter-in-law, Connie Bossard.

Calling hours are Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Willis L. Arnold Funeral Home, 33353 N. Main St., Townville. An additional calling hour will be held Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Townville Baptist Church, 33274 N. Main St., Townville.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the church, with the Rev. James Riley officiating.

Military honors will follow, conducted by Titusville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5958.

Burial will take place in Kingsley Cemetery, Townville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Kingsley Cemetery Association, in care of Betty Nelson, 32443 Guys Mills Road, or Townville Baptist Church, 33274 N. Main St., both of Townville, Pa. 16360.
