Bonnie L. Dillon, 85, of Meadville, died Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Wesbury Hillside Home.
She was born July 20, 1927, in Franklin, a daughter of Russell and Beulah McMillen Carson. She married Donald E. Dillon on May 2, 1953, and he preceded her in death Oct. 8, 2003.
Bonnie was a 1945 graduate of Kane High School and a 1949 graduate of Clarion State Teachers College with a bachelor’s degree in education. She was a homemaker and had taught at Titusville High School for three years.
An active member of First Christian Church, Bonnie was a former Sunday school teacher and member of the Victory Class. She served as a volunteer driver for the American Cancer Society for many years.
Survivors include a daughter, Jan R. Van Tuil and her husband, Kurt, of Meadville; four grandchildren, Benjamin J. Van Tuil and his wife, Abigail, Candice J. Van Tuil, Christy J. Futrell and her husband, David, and Laurie F. Minshull and her husband, Joe; two stepgrandchildren, Rachel M. Sullinger and her husband, Kenny, and John Michael Pratt; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Ted R. Carson and his wife, Carol, of Kane; and a son-in-law, Jon D. Pratt and his wife, Cindy, of Newton Falls, Ohio.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jill Pratt, and an infant brother.
Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with Roger Smith of First Christian Church officiating.
Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.
