MEADVILLE — Joseph Anderson, 87, formerly of Riceville, N.Y., died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community in Meadville.

After graduating from high school, he worked at the former Keystone Ordnance until being drafted by the U.S. Army during World War II. After returning from the war, he attended Penn State University, graduating as a chemical engineer. He than began working for Spencer Kellogg located in Ohio and eventually moved to Buffalo, N.Y., working for Textron, retiring in 1985.

He was an avid Penn State fan and loved to golf.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at Dickson Family Funeral Home Inc., 123 S. Franklin St., Cochranton, on Thursday from 11 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. The Rev. Greg Spencer of Cochranton United Methodist Church will officiate.

Interment will be in Cochranton Cemetery.
