CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS —
Martin Perez, 68, of 110 Canfield St., Cambridge Springs, passed away Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at Cambridge Springs Rehab & Nursing Center.
Martin was born in Meadville on Feb. 19, 1945, a son of the late Anthony and Mary Marcinko Perez Sr.
At a very young age, Martin served an apprenticeship with his father, at his barber shop, where he became a master barber. Following his 20-year barber career, Martin became employed by Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, from where he retired.
He was a member of the Meadville Club. Martin loved to cook and was well known for his homemade salsa. He also loved listening to music. He enjoyed fishing and in his earlier years he enjoyed hunting.
Martin is survived by four sisters, Maria Brink and her husband, Ernest, of Meadville, Elaine Wilson of Santa Monica, Calif., Antoinette Carlson of Meadville, and Pixie Vaccaro and her husband, Al, of Vero Beach, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Martin was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony Perez Jr.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 404 Chestnut St. Meadville, where a scripture service will be conducted at 3 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 383 Arch St., Meadville, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, with Father Matthew Kujawinski as celebrant.
Interment will take place in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Township.
