SARASOTA, Fla. —
Little cherub baby, Oren Uriel Mackin of Sarasota, Fla., passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2013, on his mother’s birthday, and in a way it’s such an honor. He was 8 months, 20 days old.
Oren left behind his father, Brian Mackin; mother, Amber Heller; and his brother, Silas Mackin. He also said goodbye to grandfather, Walter Heller of Meadville; grandmother, Nancy Heller of Meadville; uncles, Jason and Chaz Heller; grandmother, Donna Mackin; grandfather, Todd Sweezy; aunts, Alicia and Michelle Mackin; and a large extended family.
He will always and forever be our little cherub baby. He was the most wonderful and handsome little boy. Uriel, his middle name, is an archangel and is always depicted as a cherub. Uriel means the light or face of God. His sweet and beautiful face to me was just that, bright full of love and wonder. He was also known as the angel of knowledge and before he was born, Amber called him “my wise little owl.” Oren is the name of a saint. In Hebrew it meant ash tree. He loved his trees.
“I took him on walks with his tree friends that he loved so much. I love him with every cell and atom of my being. So in my heart he will always be my little angel cherub baby, I’ll see as an owl in a tree on a full moon’s night. One day we shall all be reunited in a heavenly garden.”
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 5:30 p.m. at Siesta Key Beach, Fla. Condolences may be made to the family at shannonfuneralhomes.com.
