Jim (M.J.) Marhoefer, 32, of Saegertown, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2013, at Meadville Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 17, 1981, in Meadville, a son of Clarence J. Marhoefer Sr. and Doris F. Shiner Marhoefer.
M.J. enjoyed reading outdoors magazines and James Patterson books; outdoor activities; playing cards with his dad, sister Amanda, and his son Tyler; playing chess with his son; watching movies; and he loved his two children and his dogs.
He is survived by his father, Clarence (Jim) Marhoefer Sr. of Saegertown; a daughter, Amy Jo Klingensmith of Saegertown; a son, Tyler J. Marhoefer of Venango; three sisters, Elona Andrews of Meadville, Shaunnah Longstreth of Florida, and Amanda Marhoefer Decker and her husband, Mark, of Harmonsburg; an aunt, Barbara Gifford and her companion, Robert Hunter, of Saegertown; two uncles, Edward Marhoefer of Saegertown and Richard Shiner of Conneaut Lake; his two dogs, Diamond and Zoey; and several nieces and nephews.
M.J. was preceded in death by his mother, Doris F. Marhoefer; maternal grandparents, Richard G. Shiner and Jean Bortner Shiner; paternal grandparents, Clarence G. Marhoefer, Frances M. Marhoefer and Wanda Highouse; several aunts and uncles; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Roofner-Collins-Warren Funeral Home, 544 Chestnut St., Meadville.
