Dolores R. Mozina

MEADVILLE — Dolores R. Mozina, 80, of 13259 Route 98, Meadville, passed away Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at Meadville Medical Center.

Dolores was born in Brownsville on Sept. 13, 1933, a daughter of the late Luke and Edith Stinner Redigan.

On May 31, 1955, Dolores married Frank W. Mozina; he preceded her in death on Jan. 10, 2007.

She was an active member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church where she served as an Eucharist minister and was the coordinator of the RCIA Program for more than 10 years.

Dolores enjoyed being a homemaker. She was a very selfless and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. While raising her family, she helped her husband on the family farm which was located on Norrisville Road. In her younger years she worked in her father’s grocery store. Dolores enjoyed reading but her greatest joy in life was being with her family, especially her grandchildren. Dolores will be remembered for her outstanding character. She lived her daily life in her beliefs of faith, hope and love, especially love.

Dolores is survived by five children, Diane Lang and her husband, Don, of Conneaut Lake, Frank W. Mozina Jr. and his wife, Cora, of Linesville, Lisa Schriefer and her husband, Tim, of Erie, Joy Mitchell and her husband, Greg, of Saegertown, and Leigh Mozina of Meadville; seven grandchildren, Tim Schriefer Jr. and his girlfriend, Cecily White, Kelly Smith and her husband, Brodie, David Lang, Michael Lang, Carley Mitchell, Emily Mitchell and Abigail Mozina; her sister, Edith Dunn of Eighty Four; her brother, Luke Redigan and his wife, Virginia, of Boca Raton, Fla.; many nieces, nephews; and her dog, Freddie, who was her faithful and daily companion.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Frank, of 51 years, Dolores was preceded in death by a brother, John (Jack) Redigan.

Family and friends are invited to call on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where a scripture service will be conducted at 4.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 383 Arch St., Meadville, at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, with Father Johnathan Schmolt, pastor, as celebrant.

Dolores will be laid to rest next to her husband, Frank, in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Township.

Memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics of Crawford County, C/O the ARC of Crawford County, 222 Chestnut St., Meadville, Pa. 16335; or American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15205-4620.
