Connie Etheridge, 76, of Meadville, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Fla., surrounded by her family.
She was born in Meadville on Feb. 17, 1938, to G. Stanley Coulter and Helen (Guenther) Coulter. She was a 1955 graduate of Meadville High School. She spent her entire life being a devoted mother and wife. Connie worked as a bookkeeper for Etheridge Electric for 25 years. She spent many winters in Florida and her summers in Meadville. She was an active golfer, avid bridge player, bargain shopper and “coupon clipper.”
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, John Etheridge; three daughters, Gaye Holt (Reginald) of Lakeland, Fla., Marcy LaVine (Keith) of Jacksonville, Fla., and Lisa Bailey (Scott) of Erie; and nine grandchildren, Kyle and Weston Wilkes, Nichole and Ryan Katulich, Lauren and Michael LaVine, and Austin, Drew and Abbey Bailey. She is also survived by her sister, Patricia Smith of Meadville; a niece, Brenda Smith; and a nephew, Tim Smith.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday in Lakeland, Fla. A memorial service will be held in Meadville in the spring.
