MEADVILLE — Stella A. Rupert, 99, formerly of New Lebanon, Sandy Lake, passed away Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community after a short illness.

Born April 9, 1914, at Sandy Lake, she was a daughter of Charles W. and Anna I. Barber Vath.

She attended the former Sandy Lake High School.

In her early years, she worked at the Vengold Dairy, Sandy Lake Diner and Polk State School and Hospital (now Polk Center).

Most of all she was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and baking, and was especially known for her dinner rolls.

She was a member of Lebanon Community Church and the Ladies Aid Society.

Mrs. Rupert was a long-time member of the New Lebanon Grange and a member of the Lady Worth Rebekah Lodge No. 328.

Her husband, Clair A. Rupert, whom she married Aug. 25, 1937, preceded her in death June 7, 1997.

Survivors include a daughter, Lois E. Morrison and her husband, John D., of Cochranton; a son, Richard L. Rupert and his wife, Joyce, of Cooperstown; seven grandchildren, Carrie Fleming and her husband, Jonathan, Matthew Rupert, Erin John and her husband, Collin, Andrew Rupert, Amy Jacobs and her husband, Duane, Michael Morrison and his wife, Heather, and Julie Anundson and her husband, Kevin; six great-grandchildren, Sara and Logan Jacobs, Paige and Dylan Anundson, Trey Morrison and Rhiannon Fleming; and two great-great-grandchildren, Ryker and Camdon Morrison.

She preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Clara Lewis and Myrtle Wilson; and four brothers, Albert, Theodore, Homer and Raymond Vath.

Calling hours are from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Scott A. Black Funeral Home, 3236 S. Main St., Sandy Lake.

The funeral and committal service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Rev. Dr. Richard C. Steinlechner, pastor of New Lebanon Community Church, officiating.

Internment will be in New Lebanon Cemetery, Mill Creek Township.
