MEADVILLE — Jo C. Klingensmith, 76, of Meadville passed away Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at Meadville Medical Center.

She was born Sept. 14, 1937, in Thelma, Ky., a daughter of Johnnie and Floretta Irene Harrington Childers. She married Robert L. Klingensmith on Oct. 5, 1974, and he survives.

She was a 1973 graduate of Pikeville University, Pikeville, Ky., with a bachelor’s degree in education. She was a high school English and psychology teacher for several years in Florida and Kentucky and then worked as a dental office manager in Springfield, Va., for seven years.

She was a member of First Christian Church, Meadville, and a former member of the Florida Hospital Waterman Auxiliary, Eustis, Fla. She enjoyed sewing.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, Bob, of 39 years, include three children, Jeffrey Klingensmith and his wife, Donna, of Harrison, Ohio, Cheryl Matuszewski and her husband, Walter, of Fairborn, Ohio, and John D. Williams and his wife, Dianne, of Lexington, S.C.; a daughter-in-law, June Klingensmith of Dayton, Ohio; a niece, Jolynn Dellinger of Durham, N.C.; and eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Klingensmith and James R. Williams; and a brother, John Childers.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
