Vickie Cocolin Evans, 65, of Snellville, Ga., formerly of Meadville, passed away Friday, Oct. 4, 2013.
She is survived by husband, Greg William Evans; son, Gregor John Evans and wife, Cathy Evans; daughters, Ashley E. Evans of State College and Erin C. Evans of Snellville, Ga.; and grandson, Alexander G. Evans. She is also survived by a brother, John Cocolin, State College; a sister, Carla Cocolin Chisholm; and brother-in-law, Bill Chisholm, Meadville; and several nieces and nephews.
Vickie was a 1966 graduate of Meadville Area Senior High School, a 1970 graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College, Berea, Ohio, and was a member of Alpha Phi International sorority.
Vickie taught Language Arts at Fredrick Douglas High School, Atlanta, Ga. Vickie loved to golf, play cards, cook and spend time with family and friends poolside.
She volunteered at Sunrise Senior Living, giving cooking lessons for six years.
A gathering of remembrance is Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where a service will be conducted at 4 p.m. with Fr. Marc Solomon officiating.
The interment will follow immediately at St. Agatha Cemetery, West Mead Township.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15205-4620.
