Harold Lester Shaw, 73, of Saegertown, lost a courageous battle with cancer Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013.
He was a son of the late Leo and Margaret Cotton Shaw. He married the love of his life, Emma Slaubaugh, in 1981.
He was a retired truck driver and had a 3-million-mile safety record.
He enjoyed college football, any team would do. He and Emma took many trips on his Kawasaki fully-dressed touring bike. Harold was a quiet man with a quick wit. He loved feeding the birds, fishing, and sitting quietly on the swing while Emma did the gardening.
In addition to his wife of 33 years, he is survived by his 11 children, Harold (Jake) Shaw Jr. of Bedford, Ky., Clyde Stoll of Meadville, Victor Stoll of Winchester, Va., Cindy Sherrod and her husband, Bob, of Meadville, Lavern Stoll and his wife, Ella, of Saegertown, Elizabeth Oakes and her husband, Greg, of Long Valley, N.J., Ronald Shaw and his wife, Mary K., of Meadville, Fannie DeMarco and her husband, CJ, of Erie, Michael Shaw and his wife, Misty, of Meadville, Dorothy Longstreth and her husband, Ed, of Meadville, and Connie Cook and her husband, Patrick, of Eulliss, Texas; one sister, Betty Sullivan of North Carolina; one brother, the Rev. Richard Shaw of New Jersey; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Willis Stoll; a brother, John (Jack) Shaw; and a grandson, Corey Robert Sherrod.
