Bertha M. Tyler, 85, of Guys Mills Road, Meadville, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 21, 2013, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born March 15, 1928, in Massillon, Ohio, a daughter of Arthur and Lucy Byers Jones. She married Hibbard L. Tyler on July 5, 1946, and he preceded her in death May 8, 1977.
Bertha was a 1945 graduate of Massillon High School. She was a production worker at Heatrex and had also worked as a nurse’s aide at the former Mead Nursing Home. She was of the Protestant faith, enjoyed playing bingo and especially loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include a son, Terry Tyler of Guys Mills; three grandchildren, Lisa Henry and her husband, Denzel, of Blooming Valley, Nikki Hartman and her husband, Charlie, of Guys Mills, and Carl Moore and his wife, Wendy, of Conneaut Lake; five great-grandchildren, Ashtin Henry, Tyler Henry, Lawrence Tyler, Tausha Hartman and her companion, Adam Rhoades, and Chelsea Schultz and her husband, Jacob; and two great-great-grandsons, Noah Rhoades and Tanner Schultz.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Moore; three infant children; a grandson, Tim Tyler; and a brother, Arthur Jones Jr.
Calling hours are today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
Interment and a private family graveside service will be in Massillon Cemetery, Massillon, Ohio.
