Sebastian James Trucco

MEADVILLE — Sebastian James Trucco, 54, of 1167 Water St., Meadville, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013, at Meadville Medical Center.

Sebastian was born in Meadville on Nov. 9, 1958, a son of Harriet M. (Payne) Trucco and the late Anthony J. Trucco.

He was a 1976 graduate of Meadville Area High School. During high school he was a member of the Meadville High School Marching Band, a very skilled drummer with lessons from Cootie Harris. His Dove Image band won the Battle of the Bands over 20 other contestants. He was a lifeguard at the Riverside Inn, Cambridge Springs, and the Holiday Inn, Meadville. He was a life-long member of the YMCA.

Upon graduation in 1976 he became employed by Conrail in Meadville as a laborer, crane spotter and equipment operator through 1979; Ridgway and Oil City as a clerk from 1979 to 1980; national corporate headquarters in Philadelphia as a control desk monitor from 1980 to 1988; 1988 through 1991 he worked in the Conway Yards as a clerk and finally stationed at the National Customer Service Center in Pittsburgh as a train monitor until his retirement due to declining health. He received additional training in the Customer Service Training Program, Continuous Quality Improvement, Continuous Hazardous Training Program and Technical Training on Dysfunctional Lines.

He lived with his mother and sister Emmaline, where they gave loving and caring treatment of Sebastian during his years of declining health. He was very close with all his brothers and sisters and loved spending time with each of them, especially at family functions and activities. He also had a special relationship with his uncle and aunt Vito and Angeline (Jean) Perricone, deceased, and his cousins Marie Perricone and James and Josephine (Babe) Adair, sharing many meals and event gatherings at their home. Marie and Sebastian had agreed to watch the Pittsburgh Steelers this season and a hopeful Super Bowl.

He was a member of St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church and the Italian Civic Club. He loved playing the drums, following the Steelers, going to the casinos in Atlantic City, and in the last couple of years, taking rides around the county and reminiscing about concerts he attended and his social life through the years.

In addition to his mother, Harriet Trucco, Sebastian is survived by four brothers and sisters, George J. Trucco and his wife, Susan, and their sons, Anthony J. Trucco and George J. Trucco Jr., Emmaline Trucco, Tinamarie Trucco de Rodriguez and her husband, Edgar Rodriguez Sierra, and Guido Trucco and his companion, Sheri Stewart; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Trucco and her daughter, Alecia Trucco; his uncle and godfather, James J. Duratz; godson, Anthony Adair; his aunt, Christine Kowalski and her husband, Larry; aunt, Marian Randall; and many cousins.

In addition to his father, Anthony J. Trucco, Sebastian was preceded in death by his brother, John A. Trucco; grandparents, Ralph and Iva Payne, Sebastian and Josephine Trucco, and George and Emmaline Barco; his godmother, Helene B. Duratz; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where a Scripture service will be conducted at 3 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 1085 Water St., Meadville, at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, with Father Marc Solomon, pastor, as celebrant.

Interment will take place in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Township.
