Lynette M. (Dee Dee) Zarecki Cowin, 61, of Mule Street, Cochranton (Greenwood Township), passed away unexpectedly of natural causes Friday evening, Nov. 2, 2012, at Saint Vincent Health Center, Erie.
She was born in Pittsburgh on May 16, 1951, a daughter of the late Harry and Helen J. Simpson Zarecki Sr. She had previously been married to James Cowin, who preceded her in death.
She was currently employed in the janitorial department of the Crawford County Courthouse and had previously worked in the janitorial department at the former PPG Works No. 8, Meadville. She was a member of Sheakleyville Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by a son, Ricky Joe Yount of St. Louis, Mo.; two daughters, Betty Jean Yount and Julia Yount Drennen, both of St. Louis, Mo.; six stepchildren; her companion, Richard R. Gilligan of Cochranton; and four brothers, Harry Zarecki Jr. and his wife, Shirley, of Jacksonville, Fla., David Zarecki of Meadville, Kenneth Zarecki and his wife, Kathy, of Mulberry, Ill., and Wayne Zarecki and his wife, Mary, of Greenville; several grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her former husband, James Cowin; and a sister-in-law, Sarah Jane Zarecki.
Friends may call Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 3223 Perry Highway, Sheakleyville.
The funeral and committal service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Lisa Grabb of Sheakleyville Church of the Nazarene officiating.
Interment will follow in Mumford Chapel Cemetery, Fairfield Township.
