Richard William Flynn, 78, of Meadville, died peacefully Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Avow Hospice, Naples, Fla.
He was born Feb. 11, 1934, in Jamestown, to John W. Flynn and Dorothy White Flynn.
He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. He retired from Meadville Forge.
He’s survived by three aunts, Evelyn White, Mary Lou White and Margie White; an uncle, John Queer; many cousins; his ex-wife, Norma Jean Flynn; and his love and companion of 15 years, Luba Carley, and her son, two daughters and five grandchildren, who fondly called him Mr. Richard.
He enjoyed spending time with family and with his neighbors in Meadville, the Prices and the Koughers, and all his good friends at Panthers Walk, Naples, who were truly his family.
A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday at Randall Funeral Home, 416 Liberty St., Jamestown.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
