Treva Leah Karns DeMaison, 92, passed away Friday, April 05, 2013, at home.
Born Sept. 15, 1920, in Stitzerville, she was the daughter of Ellis and Leah Mellring Karns.
She married Roy E. DeMaison on June 28, 1941, and he survives.
She worked at the former American Viscose and was a member of St. Hippolyte’s Catholic Church in Frenchtown and a member of the Altar Rosary Society at the church.
Treva was an excellent homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother and cherished the time spent with her family. She also enjoyed playing bingo.
Survivors, in addition to her husband of 71 years, include her children, Judy DeMaison of Frenchtown, Carol Mears and her companion, Scott Marsh, of Guys Mills, Daniel DeMaison and his wife, Diann ,of Guys Mills, and Richard DeMaison of Frenchtown; a daughter-in-law, Margie DeMaison of Florida; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Putthoff and her husband, Steven, of Fort Lewis, Wash., Christopher DeMaison and his wife, Megan, of Blooming Valley, Ryan DeMaison and his wife, Katie, of Meadville, Devin DeMaison and his wife, Kayla, of Blooming Valley, Heather Stump of Meadville and Christen Girt and her husband, Dan, of Meadville, Richard DeMaison and his wife, Christina, of Meadville, and Wendy DeMaison of Florida; 11 great-grandchildren; two half-sisters, Mary Washok and Rita Bogardus; four half-brothers, James, Gerald, Earl and Eugene Karns; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Marilyn DeMaison.
She was preceded in death by her son, Gary DeMaison; a twin sister, Neva Ewing; two half-sisters, Yvonne Karns and Marjorie Maloney; and three half-brothers Ellis Karns Jr., Gaylord Karns and Thomas Karns.
There are no calling hours.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Hipplolytes Catholic Church, with the Rev. Daniel Prez as celebrant.
Interment will be in the St. Hippolyte Cemetery.
The family asks that memorials be made to Southern Care Hospice, 1245 Park Ave., Meadville.
