Eva L. Chase Catalano Davenport, 85, of Meadville, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Meadville Medical Center following an extended illness.
She was born Feb. 27, 1928, in Meadville, a daughter of Robert and Frankie Camp Chase.
Eva was employed at American Viscose, Talon, Isaly’s, Woolworth’s, Palmer’s Restaurant and retired from the housekeeping department at Meadville Medical Center following 17 years of service. She also was owner and operator of Catalano’s Restaurant and Bar.
Eva was a member of the Meadville Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 429 Auxiliary and enjoyed bowling in the Monday night classic league at Plaza Lanes, playing bingo at the Community Center and going to the casinos.
Survivors include four daughters, Linda Snyder and her husband, George, of Meadville, Bonnie Smock of Meadville, Judy Williams and her companion, Ron Gray, of Conneaut Lake, and Lori Williams and her husband, Romie, of Meadville; two sons, Arthur Catalano Jr. and his wife, Milly, of Solon, Ohio, and Gary Catalano of Meadville; two sisters, Gladys Anderson of Erie and Rose Worley of Arizona; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kelly Diane Catalano; two grandsons, Todd Snyder and David Williams; two brothers, Raymond and Robert Chase; a sister, Ruth Chase; and her former husband, Arthur A. Catalano.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. and Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
The funeral service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jamey Huselton, pastor of Cornerstone Church of God, officiating.
Interment will be in St. Brigid Cemetery.
