Bonita Louise Weidner Gerlosky, age 70, a resident of Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown, died on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Meadville Medical Center.
Born on Nov. 27, 1942, in Crawford County, Bonnie was a daughter of the late Peter Weidner and Margaret Vandervort Weidner.
After graduation from Cambridge Springs High School, Bonnie worked for many years as an aide in a personal care home in Geneva, Ohio. She married Stanley Gerlosky on June 26, 1985, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 8, 1991. Following his passing, Bonnie returned to Cambridge Springs to live and then to Saegertown where she has resided for many years.
Surviving Bonnie are six sisters, Karen Pridavka of Plantation, Fla.; Margaret Weidner of Saegertown; Virginia Kester of Cambridge Springs; Bernadette Wilson Van Slyke of Meadville; Francine Nelson of Cambridge Springs; and Janell Weidner of Meadville. She is also survived by five brothers, Jerry Weidner of Meadville; Joe Weidner of Thompson, Ohio; Peter Weidner of Venango; John Weidner of Springfield, Mo.; and Kevin Weidner of Saegertown.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a sister, Martha Caldwell.
Friends may call at Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs today from 7 to 9 p.m. Prayer Vigil service will begin this evening at 8:30.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Cambridge Springs, on Monday morning at 10, with the Rev. David Poulson, pastor of the church, as celebrant.
Interment will take place in Madison Memorial Cemetery, Madison Township, Ohio, on Monday afternoon.
