Lloyd Emerson Jacobs, 78, of Creek Road, Carlton, died Saturday, March 16, 2013, at his residence following a lengthy illness.
Born Oct. 2, 1934, in Milledgeville, he was the son of Walter and Freda Smith Jacobs. He married Marylyn Clayton on June 19, 1954, and she preceded him in death May 12, 2011.
He was a lifelong farmer and retired from dairy farming in 1997. After retiring, he worked part time for the Adesa Car Auction in Mercer.
He was a member of Milledgeville Community Christian Church where he served as an elder and trustee, and he also was a member of Chapter N of the Goldwing Road Riders Association.
Survivors include a daughter, Dawn Sochor of Carlton; a son, Delayne Jacobs and his wife, Lynda, of Cochranton; four grandchildren, Steven Sochor and his wife, Joy, of Meadville, David Sochor and his wife, Ashlie, of Carlton, Danielle Jacobs of Carlton, and Reid Jacobs of Cochranton; a great-granddaughter, Candace Sochor; two nieces, Roni Lynn Teague and Sheri Stritch; a nephew, Todd Clayton; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Audine Boyd; a brother-in-law; and a nephew.
Calling hours are Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Dickson Family Funeral Home Inc., 123 S. Franklin St., Cochranton.
The funeral will be at noon Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Samuel Heagy of Milledgeville Community Christian Church officiating.
Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Sandy Lake.
