MEADVILLE — Florence M. Cronin Petrillo, 98, of South Shady Acres Drive, Meadville, died Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at her residence with her family around her.

Florence was born June 25, 1915, in Fredericksburg Boro, Crawford County, the daughter of the late Albert and Agnes Hetzel Cronin. She made her home with the late Mary Lahey and Julia Lahey of Meadville.

She had attended Meadville Second District School and Meadville Junior High School.

She married Dominic E. Petrillo in August 1933, and they had two children, Edward James and Diane Elaine. He preceded her in death.

She was employed at the Viscose and later at Spencer Hospital, where she retired after 19 years. After her retirement, she worked as a volunteer at the Meadville Medical Center Coffee Shop.

Florence is survived by her daughter, Diane; three grandchildren, Desiree L. McFalls, Debra L. Malott and Gianetta Ellis; two great-grandchildren, Leah G. Darnell Bare and Jeremy G. Darnell; and a great-great-grandson, Jace Bare. She is further survived by several nieces and nephews.

 In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Edward; four sisters, Ruth Hanks, Margaret Curry, Elizabeth Parsell and Genevieve Guay; and by two brothers, Charles Cronin and Albert Cronin.

Family and friend are welcome to call at Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home & Crematory, 614 Baldwin St., Meadville, on Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. with Father Marc Solomon, pastor of St. Mary of Grace Church, officiating. Florence will be laid to rest next to her husband in St. Brigid Cemetery.
