Janet Marion Mailliard, 81, of Meadville, passed away Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, after a long, painful battle with Parkinson’s disease with her loving family by her side at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community.
She was the youngest daughter of the late Bert and Edna Willison Sample of Cochranton. She was married to the late Walter Anthony and together they had eight children. She later married William (Pete) Mailliard, who also preceded her in death.
Janet worked for Spencer Hospital where she was the head of housekeeping.
She is survived by her daughters, Diane Case and her husband, Cloyde, Joanne Higgins and her husband, Bob, Nancy Peterson and her husband, Darwin, and Patty Wales and her husband, Ed; two sons, Ed Anthony and his wife, Rose, and Tom Anthony and his wife, Chris; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a loving extended family. She will be dearly missed by all.
In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Frisina, Florence Smith and Betty Downey; a brother, Robert Sample; a son, Dale Anthony, who died at birth; and a daughter, Connie Sue Luczynski, whom she recently lost on Oct. 11, 2012.
Family and friends are welcome to call today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Roofner-Collins-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut St., Meadville.
The funeral will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Philip Torre of First Assembly of God officiating.
Burial will take place in Cochranton Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Wesbury, Hospice and Pastor Philip Torre for the care they provided Janet over the years.
