COCHRANTON — Margaret E. Beiter, 98, of Cochranton died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013, at the home of her daughter. Born Sept. 23, 1915, in North Braddock, she was a daughter of Reuben and Nellie Weissenstein Rickard. She married Frank E. Beiter on June 26, 1937, and he preceded her in death on June 9, 1977.

She was a cook at the former Kerr’s and Ward’s restaurants. She was also a member of Meadville Trinity Lutheran Church, the Cochranton Grange, the Cochranton Fair Board and volunteered at the Meadville Soup Kitchen.

Survivors include her children, Colleen Reynolds and her husband, Charlie, of Springboro, James Beiter and his wife, Margo, of Girard, Bonnie Hogue and her husband, Walter, of Cochranton, and Rusty Baker and his wife, Nancy, of Cochranton; grandchildren, C. Ed Reynolds and his wife, Kimberly, Cami Egli and her husband, Joseph, Michael Beiter and his wife, Charleen, Jennifer Mason, Kelly Soloman and her husband, Joe, Matthew Hogue and his wife, Sarah, Patty Spencer and her husband, Dean, Bill Beiter and his wife, Misty, Gary Rodgers and his wife, Marissa, and Heather Miller and her husband, Paul; 22 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elsie Blankfield of Cochranton and Becky Fisher of Albion; a brother, Walter Rickard and his wife, Roxie, of Memphis, Tenn.; two brothers-in-law, Richard and Robert Beiter; and a sister-in-law, Almeda Brentzel.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Sanford, Nelson, Luther and Walter Rickard; and three sisters, Stella Pointz, Edna Woomer and Nellie Shoaf.

Friends will be received at Dickson Family Funeral Home Inc., 123 S. Franklin St., Cochranton, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Additional calling hour will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, followed by the funeral service at 2, with the Rev. Brian Riddle officiating.

Interment will be in Cochranton Cemetery.
