FARRELL — Florence T. (Flo) Yurcich of 432 Patt Drive, Farrell, passed away peacefully after an extended illness at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, July 8, 2013, in her home which she shared with her son and caregiver, Mark Yurcich. She was 83.

Mrs. Yurcich was born Jan. 3, 1930, in Cambridge Springs, a daughter of Frank and Antonia Styborski.

One of 15 children, she attended a one-room schoolhouse in Cambridge Springs along with her siblings while growing up on a large family dairy farm.

Florence met her husband, Peter, while working as a waitress at Alliance College. They were married Nov. 27, 1948, and enjoyed 53 years together until Pete’s passing on Sept. 15, 2002.

She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Sharon.

In her spare time, Flo enjoyed traveling to polka dances throughout the area and taught many of her grandchildren her favorite dance.

The time that she most treasured was spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly and spoiled as often as possible, always putting their needs before her own.

Many will remember Flo for her quick wit and smiling face as a waitress at Inn 62 in Hermitage for more than 20 years where she touched many lives. Her fun-loving personality brought many smiles and laughs to her many nieces and nephews over the years.

Flo is survived by her children, Carolyn Janosko and her husband, Robert, of Hermitage, Mark Yurcich and Ralph Deets at home, Barbara Mason and her husband, Michael, of West Middlesex, and Andrea Fletcher and her husband, Robert, of Farrell. She also leaves behind three brothers, John Styborski, Paul Styborski and his wife, Sara, and Stanley Styborski; three sisters, Frances Taylor and her husband, Michael, Mary Alice Malinowski and her husband, Robert, and Judy Novak; her grandchildren, Kelley Yurcich, Kim Hnida and her husband, Anthony, Jessica Dudzenski and her husband, Nick, Eric Janosko and his wife, Kristen, Monica Gartner and her husband, Jacob, Jacquelyn Mason and her fiancé, Mike Jones, Kristopher Mason, Tia Yurcich, and Jade and Hanna Fletcher; and four great-grandchildren, Shelby Yurcich, Antonio Hnida, Zachary Dudzenski and Connor Gartner.

Besides her husband, Flo was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Teresa; a daughter, Antoinette (Toni) Egelsky; eight brothers, Frank, Ted, Leo, Mack, Edward, Alec, Henry and Adam Styborski; and many loving in-laws.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 1 p.m. in St. Anthony’s Church, 804 Idaho St., Sharon, with the Rev. Joseph Campbell, pastor, as celebrant.
