MEADVILLE — Jeanne L. Barris, 68, of Meadville, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Meadville Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 28, 1944, in Meadville, a daughter of Lee and Agnes Hurley Wills. She married Edward E. Barris on March 14, 1964, and he preceded her in death Aug. 2, 2000.

Jeanne was a 1962 graduate of Meadville High School. She worked in the spinning room at American Viscose and Avtex and subsequently worked at Quality Markets.

Jeanne was affiliated with St. Paul’s Reformed Church. She was a beautiful, kind hearted-person before the ravages of early Alzheimer’s disease. She loved her cats, taking in strays, enjoyed scrapbooking, cooking for family and friends and especially attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.

She was the loving mother of Connie Dolan and her husband, Gerry, of Knowlton, N.J.; loving grandmother of Gerard III (Buddy), Patrick, and Kelly Dolan; beloved sister of Judy Hornstein and her husband, David, of Meadville, Dianne Kraut and her husband, Jim, of Girard, Robert Wills of Milton, Fla., and Tim Wills of Pensacola, Fla.; caring sister-in-law of Shirley Reeger and her husband, Earl, of Meadville; and special aunt to many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Wills.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville, where the funeral and committal service will follow at 2 p.m., with the Rev. David P. McAfee, pastor of St. Paul’s Reformed Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.
