WAYNESVILLE, N.C. —
Thomas Brian Barry, 75, died at his home in Waynesville, Haywood County, N.C., on Friday, Aug. 2, 2013.
He was born Oct. 1, 1937, in Meadville, and is the son of the late George Edward and Marion Brown Barry.
He was a graduate of St. Bonaventure University and for many years worked in the advertising departments of several newspapers: The Meadville Tribune, The Panama City News-Herald (Florida) and The Waynesville Mountaineer (North Carolina).
He enjoyed living in the mountains and was very partial to nature and to his cats.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Robin) Barry; his daughters, Miriam Barry Keeter and her husband, Clay, of Fairview, N.C., Christine Barry Nelson and her husband, Jonathan, of Fletcher, N.C., and Charlotte Barry of Asheville, N.C.; grandchildren, Thomas Joseph and Harrison Rose Keeter, Parker and Sophia Nelson, and Marissa Weagly and her husband, Zack, of Pennsylvania; two great-grandchildren; his former wife and mother of his children, Jean Welch Barry; and a cousin, Kathie Roae of Meadville.
At his request, no services were held. Crawford/Ray Funeral Home of Canton, N.C., assisted the family.
