Lloyd H. (Buck) Mullen Jr., 79, of 243 W. Marley Road, Jamestown, Mercer County, died Friday, April 19, 2013, at 1:30 a.m. at his residence.
He was born Sept. 14, 1933, in Meadville, a son of Lloyd H. Mullen Sr. and Viola Siegrist Mullen. He married Evelyn Bounds on July 12, 1984; she survives.
Lloyd served as a SP3 in the U.S. Army. He was an art teacher for Jamestown School District, retiring after 30 years. Following retirement, he worked for Pymatuning State Park as a heavy machine operator.
He was a member of Jamestown Veterans of Foreign Wars, Amvets and the Jamestown Fireman’s Club. He was also a member of Vernon Central Hose Co. in Meadville.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Evelyn Mullen, at home; two sons, Kevin Mullen and his wife, Wendy, of Meadville, and Brian Mullen and his wife, Mel, of Linesville; a daughter, Jodi Beil and her husband, Brian, of South Carolina; two stepdaughters, Cindy Cloud of Jamestown and Lori Shirey of Greenville; a brother, Charles Mullen of Meadville; four sisters, Connie Durish, Pat Lafferty, June Peterson, and Donna Mullen and her husband, Joe, all of Meadville; five grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and a great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a stepgreat-granddaughter, Baby Jamie Shirey.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Randall Funeral Home, 416 Liberty St., Jamestown.
The religious service with military honors by Jamestown VFW Post 5424 Honor Guard will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery, Jamestown.
