Susie loved growing plants and flowers; her friends called her “the plant lady.” She was also a lover of books and poetry, and wrote many poems herself, including this one:

Passing Thought

It’s not the actual dying I mind.

It's leaving God to those

Who might not appreciate Him.

Will you keep Him company

When you wake in the night?

Will you come and look at my flowers?
