OIL CITY — Bonnie J. Crytzer, 71, of 166 Hahn Lane, Oil City, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at UPMC Hamot in Erie.

Born Sept. 17, 1942, in Sharon, she was a daughter of the late Ivan P. and Margaret I. Bailey Leidy.

Bonnie graduated in 1960 from Sharon High School and then in 1963 from the Allegheny Valley Hospital School of Nursing.

She worked as a registered nurse at various hospitals, retiring in 1996 from UPMC Northwest.

Bonnie enjoyed the fiber arts of spinning and weaving, and also raised sheep for the production of fiber.

She enjoyed many creative crafts such as basket weaving, soap and candle making, stained glass and loved gardening and her pets.

Bonnie was a member of the Northwest Pennsylvania Spinners and Weavers Guild.

On June 29, 1963, she married James E. Crytzer, who survives.

In addition to her husband of 50 years, she is survived by two sisters, Carol A. McKnight and companion, Bill Bickerton, of Masury, Ohio, and Noreen M. Owen and husband, Phil, of Jamestown; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas A. Leidy.

Friends may call at Morrison Funeral Home, 110 Petroleum St., Oil City, on Saturday from noon to 2 p.m.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Interment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
